two thoughts to consider when reading posts

1) I write about my faith and its impact on my daily life. While I use the term "God", it is not meant for the belief of 'only one way'. While my personal belief is based upon the Judeo-Christian tradition, your path may be, and is quite likely different. I do not subscribe to the belief that there's only one way to God.  I believe there are many paths to God, to enlightenment, the guiding forces of the universe or divine light.

  • It is my hope that each person discovers or enhances their spirituality,  which may or may not be my understanding of God.
  • I do not limit the God of my understanding to one belief-system, or one way. Absolutely not. I believe that God has an infinite number of ways to call us to divinity.
  • The one-way mindset limits a ubiquitous, awe-inspiring God. Our mind is inherently limited and therefore cannot grasp all the magnificent wonders of the universe.

2) A second point is when writing about the God of my understanding, the posts contain non-gender pronouns when discussing God. Several faiths (Judaism, Catholicism, Anglican)  believe that to assign a gender, is limiting God to a human being, with genitalia. The Archbishop of Canterbury explained that "God is not male or female".  He goes on to state, "God is not definable. All human language about God is inadequate".

Catholicism notes that “God transcends the human distinction between the sexes,” as stated by the Catholic church catechism of 1993. “He is neither man nor woman: He is God.”

I say amen to that!
